guide. You may also wish to compare to the CTHSS simplified performance
standards packet.

PHY CHEM ASSESSMENT
Using the Grade Level Expectations and Grade Level
Concepts:
Divide
into groups of 3 or so.
Each
group should take two or three expected performances that they have unwrapped.
Use the 08-09 quarterly
assessments and item analysis
Use the resources provided on www.newhavenscience.org/Oct6
Do
the questions in the quarterly assessment match the expected performances? Do
they match the grade level concepts? What do the results show?
Use
the books, released items (CAPT Practice) online resources, etc…
What
are other questions (multiple choice) that match the standards?
By
end of session:
Come
up with 2-5 GOOD multiple choice question for each standard.
Write
them on a document or copy links,
submit to Richard Therrien.

now?
What

Look at the “open ended” experiments (yellow) page. What other cause/effect or
open ended experiments have you done or can think of to share with the group
that match your curriculum?

Other sharing…. Which content is particularly hard to teach? What activities
can you share? (make sure to identify the performance standard it matches)
